Our goal is to develop children’s spirituality and to teach children God’s word in an interactive, engaging way through the events and programs listed below.
Vacation Bible School: Peace Works
July 8th–12th, 2019, 9:00 AM to Noon
Our Vacation Bible School theme for this year is Peace Works. Along with daily scriptures, Peace Works includes themes that invite us to explore peace from a variety of cultural, historical, and theological perspectives.
Various cultural and ethnic expressions and voices are brought together to make peace more than a clichéd dream. The hospitality of Aloha, the connectivity of Ubuntu, and self-awareness of Heiwa, and the passion of Sí Se Puede® remind us that peace pushes us to change, grow, and unite.
These daily theme words hold deep meaning and invite us to see the world through someone else’s eyes. Children will be invited to think about peace and peace making from a different perspective.
Registration for VBS will be open May 20th through June 27th and will be available electronically here on our website. Space will be limited, but we will form a waiting list once all spots are filled.
Parent involvement is important, too!
We will be asking parents and children who are enrolled in VBS to come to a kick-off ice cream social on Sunday, July 7th, at 7:00 p.m at the church. This will include an introduction for parents about what their children will be learning during the week, and other important information. Childcare will be provided during the presentation.
A Friday evening program and free BBQ for parents and children will let the VBS children show off what they have done and learned! This will be at 6:30 p.m. at the church on July 12th.
We need volunteers to make this amazing opportunity for children happen! There are many ways to help: before, during, and after VBS. The volunteer registration is found below. You may register online or download it here and return it to the church office, or to one of the committee members listed on the form. We need everyone’s talents, so please consider what you can do to help!
Children of all ages are welcome to stay in our worship service. We do offer our church nursery to children ages 3 years old and under if that works best for your family. We have a wonderful nursery staff who is ready to take care of your little ones while you worship. The nursery is available year round.
Children from Pre-K through 2nd grade will be in the Sanctuary for the beginning of the 9:00 a.m. worship service and at 9:15 they are welcome to participate in a fun, dynamic discipleship experience called First Kids. Parents, we want you to know that if First Kids doesn’t work, your kids are welcome to join us in worship. We are glad you are here, and we want you to do what works best for your family. There are activity bags available in the Narthex. First Kids is available from Labor Day through Memorial Day.
